How to add an SSH key to your VPS
Add your public SSH key in the panel's SSH Keys section, then rebuild the VPS selecting that key so it is installed for the root user.
Adding an SSH key to your VPS lets you log in without a password and disable password authentication, which makes the server more secure. In the Fusiora panel you add the key and then apply it by rebuilding the VPS.
Prerequisite: generate a key pair
You need an SSH key pair. Generate one on your computer with the command below (or use the Generate Key Pair button in the panel). Keep the private key safe and copy the public key (the .pub file).
ssh-keygen -t ed255191. Open the SSH Keys section
Sign in to the control panel and open SSH Keys in the top navigation, then click Add Key (top right).
2. Add your public key
Enter a name for the key and paste your public key. Then click Save.
3. Open your server
Go to Servers and click Manage on the VPS where you want the key.
4. Start a rebuild
Click the Rebuild button (next to Power Off).
Warning: rebuilding wipes the server and reinstalls the operating system. Back up anything you need before continuing.
5. Select the key and rebuild
Enter the server name and desired operating system, select the SSH key you just added, and start the rebuild. The key is configured for the root user when the OS is installed. If you do not select a key, password authentication stays enabled and the root password is emailed to you.
