GTA 6: Everything We Know — Release Date, Platforms, Trailers, Map and Price
GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We sort what is confirmed from what is only rumour: the two delays, the PC version, the trailers, Leonida and its leads, the price of each edition, the future GTA Online and what it all means for FiveM and roleplay servers.
As of October 9, 2026, Rockstar's official website still reads "Coming November 19, 2026": Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Here is what is confirmed, what has only been reported by the press and what is, for now, a rumour.
Release date: November 19, 2026
No new delay has been announced. Take-Two repeated the date in its August 7 results, Rockstar in its August 26 statement about the leaks, where it asked fans to hold on a little longer and play it on November 19, and according to Rockstar's latest announcement, the radio stations reveal of October 8, 2026, it still stands. The physical edition reaches stores on November 12, the same day digital pre-loading opens.
Two delays to get here
- December 2023: the first trailer, released early because it had leaked, promises a generic "2025".
- May 2024: Take-Two narrows the window to "fall 2025".
- May 2, 2025: first delay, to May 26, 2026.
- November 6, 2025: second delay, to November 19, 2026. In Rockstar's words, the extra months will let it "finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve".
Rumours of a third delay into 2027 have no backing: Take-Two kept November 19 in its May and August 2026 results, and its record outlook for the fiscal year ending March 2027 counts on that launch.
Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. What about PC?
GTA VI launches only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PS4 or Xbox One version. The PlayStation Store listing marks it "PS5 Pro Enhanced", but nobody has said what the enhancements are: 60 fps on PS5 Pro is, for now, speculation.
Nothing has been announced for PC: no date, no price, no pre-orders. According to press reports, at the September 17 shareholder meeting Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick called PC "increasingly important", without confirming any port. The 2027 or 2028 dates going around are media estimates based on GTA V, which took about 18 months to reach PC.
The trailers and what they show
- Trailer 1 (December 5, 2023): about 90 million YouTube views in 24 hours, a record recognised by Guinness.
- Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025): more than 475 million views in 24 hours across all platforms, according to Rockstar.
- "An Extended Look" (August 27, 2026): roughly 26-30 minutes of gameplay captured on PS5, premiered on Netflix and then on YouTube. Rockstar does not call it "Trailer 3" and has not announced a third trailer.
The Extended Look showed the return of a six-star wanted level, with icons showing whether the police know your face and your clothes; a "Criminal Profile" and a karma system; free aim with a Dead Eye-style slow motion; and activities such as basketball, racing, BASE jumping and scuba diving. On October 8 came the first six radio stations, including Cocoteo FM, hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao, and the return of Flash FM.
A word on leaks: the anonymous leaker "Cyberleek" has been posting clips since August, the latest a roughly 25-minute video on October 8. They are unverified and may come from older builds.
Leonida, Vice City and the leads
The game is set in Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida, with Vice City, inspired by Miami, as its big city. The official site also lists Leonida Keys, Grassrivers (Everglades-style wetlands), Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. No full map has been published, but Rockstar North's Aaron Garbut tells Game Informer it is roughly twice the size of GTA V's. The same feature mentions hurricanes, localised weather and more than 170 animal species.
The leads are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple. Missions are played as either of them, together or apart. Rob Nelson, co-studio head of Rockstar North, told The New York Times his playthrough took about 80 hours; that is his experience, not an official average.
Price and editions: what is official and what was rumour
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Dollar prices are official; euro and pound prices were published by the press:
The Ultimate Edition adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing and action. The month of GTA+ gives perks in the current GTA Online, not in GTA VI, and the physical edition has no disc: the box holds a download code. The collector's box "The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection" does not include the game and, according to the press, costs $399.99.
Rumours of a $100 or €89.99 standard edition were proven wrong. In August, Zelnick described pre-order levels as "unprecedented", without giving figures. And according to Kinda Funny, Rob Nelson said the single-player game has no microtransactions.
GTA Online: what we know about multiplayer
Take-Two and Rockstar describe GTA VI as "a single-player experience", and as of October 9 no GTA Online for GTA VI has been announced. The press assumes it will arrive after launch, as GTA Online did in 2013 and Red Dead Online in 2018.
- Rumour: Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg he expects the multiplayer in 2027. That is his expectation, not a Rockstar announcement.
- Rumour: online tests with 32 players came up at an employment tribunal in Glasgow. The final player count is not confirmed.
- Official: Take-Two will keep supporting the current GTA Online after launch.
What about FiveM and roleplay servers?
This is the part closest to home for us. In August 2023, Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM (GTA V) and RedM (Red Dead Redemption 2), became part of Rockstar Games. Zelnick explained it to Business Insider in 2026: "hundreds of thousands of people" like to play GTA that way, so why not join them instead of trying to beat them?
Since then everything revolves around FiveM. In January 2026 Cfx Marketplace, the official mod store, opened, and this year the alternatives alt:V and RAGE:MP shut down at Take-Two's request, according to their own teams. The rules Rockstar published in 2022 for roleplay servers ban, among other things, paid loot boxes, selling currency, cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
What there is not is any announcement of FiveM or community servers for GTA VI. As it launches on consoles only, no mods are expected at launch, and any date for a "GTA VI FiveM" is speculation. Our take: roleplay will stay on FiveM and GTA V for quite a while. If your community is setting up or growing its server, Fusiora offers FiveM server hosting on Ryzen with DDoS protection included, plus a free FiveM server lookup.
