VPS networking: IPs, rDNS and SMTP ports
Find your VPS addresses, manage reverse DNS and learn about private networking and SMTP unblocking requirements.
Use this guide to check your Fusiora VPS connectivity and prepare a network change request.
Public IP addresses
Your assigned IP is in Client area > Services > Your VPS and the activation email. You can also check your server's network information in VirtFusion.
Configure only addresses assigned to your service. For additional IPs or retaining an address during migration, open a ticket identifying the source and destination servers. An additional IP does not imply that you can move it between VPSs through the panel.
Reverse DNS (rDNS)
A PTR record maps an IP to a name, such as mail.example.com. First create an A record, or AAAA for IPv6, pointing that name to the address.
If rDNS editing is enabled in the panel, enter the full hostname and save. Otherwise request the PTR by ticket with the IP and hostname. Changing your domain's DNS does not change the IP's PTR.
Private networking
Ask support about availability at your location before connecting VPSs over internal addresses. Include the services and intended use. Support will confirm interface settings and any restart requirement; do not assign an arbitrary subnet.
SMTP: ports 25, 465 and 587
Outbound ports 25 and 465 are blocked by default to reduce abuse and protect network reputation. For application email, use an external provider on 587 with authentication and STARTTLS as instructed. This port needs no unblocking request.
Direct SMTP requests are reviewed individually. Open a client-area ticket after at least one complete VPS billing cycle and payment of the first invoice. Describe your use case, sending software and compliance with the anti-spam policy.
Approval is not automatic. Permissions apply per account: transferring a server subjects it to the new owner's policy.
Connection troubleshooting
Check the IP, gateway, DNS resolvers and firewall. Send support the affected destination and port, timestamp with timezone and exact error. See the MTR guide or contact support.
